Purpose: At Blur, we develop and experiment with all kinds of new techniques and ideas in the fields of 2D and 3D computer graphics. This site will be primarily dedicated to, but not limited to, our development and experimentation in 3DSMax and its plugin SDK. Most of the new plugins that we develop are taken directly from the latest techniques in published papers and books, and while we do have working versions - more like proofs of concept - of many of the plugins, some don't get finished. This site gives us an opportunity to extend our development cycle and testing of plugins that we may want to complete, and it allows us a forum for releasing some of the cooler, but perhaps more unstable, plugins that we are working on. We also hope to create a forum in which we can work together with and help educate the Max user and development communities. In addition to the reasons mentioned above, we also want to get some of our plugins and ideas out into the Max community earlier than we normally would. This will, hopefully, alert other plugin developers of what we are up to, and give them a chance to steal the best ideas we have and improve upon them in their own work. |

Disclaimer: All the usual disclaimers apply. You know, things like... If anything breaks it's not our fault. If everything works, it is, etc. We do have regular jobs here at Blur, so we can't officially support any of the plugins on this site. We will do what we can, but updates and answers may be sporadic if available at all. Also, you should understand that any new features or improvements that you see in any of these plugins are not, in any way, guaranteed to be available in future version(s) of 3DSMax. Please don't mirror the plugins with low CR's - (CR ratings below 5) - These should be considered experimental and not ready for general consumption. This website is unofficial. It does not reflect Blur Studio in any way. This is just a way for a couple of us to organize what we do a little better. If you are interested in Distribution, Licensing or Contact info, you may want to check out our Readme.txt file. As if that isn't enough, here's a word from our lawyers. |

Download: Ok, this is what your looking for..., but first: Each downloadable file has an associated Confidence Rating (CR), zero to ten, that reflects our guess as to how stable the plugin is. A rating of 10 would mean that we believe the plugin to be bulletproof and a rating of 0 would mean that we believe that the plugin is currently dangerous to use for anything other than perusal. Any item with a CR less than 5 should be considered experimental and not ready for general consumption. We will do our best to keep the list of current known bugs as up to date as possible. In order to run, several of the Max plugins require BlurLib.dlu be loaded first. To accomplish this, either be sure BlurLib.dlu appears in your plugin.ini file before the other Blur plugins, or be sure that all the Blur plugins are in the same directory along with BlurLib.dlu. |
